The chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Giang Province promulgated a decision dated July 19, 2013 on establishing Bac Giang Vietnam – Korea Friendship Association. After a period of mobilization, the whole province currently has more than 100 voluntary members of the association in 7 groups.

At the meeting, the delegates discussed and approved the provisional regulation, and line of action of the association. On this occasion, the delegates also elected 11 members to the executive committee for the first five-year term (2013-2018). Mr Trinh Huu Thang, director of Investment and Planning Department, was elected to be the chairman.

Delivering speech at the meeting, Mr Nguyen Van Linh – permanent vice chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee, affirmed that Vietnam and Korea have restored and developed the cooperative relations in many fields and achieved a lot of impressive results especially in implementing investment projects for over 20 years. Recently, Korea government has provided non-refundable ODA for Bac Giang to build Vietnam-Korea Technology College. In addition, many Bac Giang citizens have been living, studying and working in Korea. The Vietnam – Korea Friendship Association would be a bridge for Bac Giang and Korea’s provinces, organizations and enterprises to strengthen the cooperative relations between the two countries.

He extended the wish that after the meeting, each staff, and member will endeavor to spread the cultural presence of Vietnam generally and Bac Giang particularly in Korea. Besides, the association needs to devise a detailed and  feasible plan to attract Bac Giang oversea people to direct their attention to the country, fully grasps the situation to advise, and  formulate policies; timely addresses the potential problems; ensures the further sustainable development of relations between Bac Giang and Korea's localities, organizations, enterprises.
