Performance of San Chay ethnic group’s wedding ceremony
From November 15th to November 23rd , Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee jointly held the “National Great Unity- Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Week” at Culture-Tourism Village of Vietnamese ethnic groups in Hanoi to mark the 85th founding anniversary of the Vietnam National United Front on November 8th (1930-2015) and welcome Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Day on November 23rd. At this event, the traditional wedding ceremony of San Chay ethnic group including 20 people at Kien Lao commune, Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province was enacted for about 20 minutes.

At this event, the traditional wedding ceremony of San Chay ethnic group including 20 people at Kien Lao commune, Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province was enacted for about 20 minutes.
There was a series of activities taken place at the event such Máy xay giò chả as Opening Program themed “ Everlasting belief”, exhibition “National great unity bloc around the Party” and performances of special culture and customs of several ethnic groups, namely Thai, Kho Mu(Dien Bien), Ta Oi (Thua Thien Hue), Cham (Binh Dinh) and M’Nông (Dac Lac), etc.
On this occasion, the traditional wedding ceremony of San Chay ethnic minority group including 20 people at Kien Lao commune, Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province was enacted for about 20 minutes, including making Dây cáp truyền thanh lime-coated betel, receiving the bride at her house, taking the bride to the groom’s house, inviting wine, response- singing, pouring wine, giving dowry and so on. This traditional wedding ceremony has been maintained at Kien Lao commune by San Chay ethnic group up to present.
