Japanese Embassy- granted project of Ben Mong Bridge in Luc Nam district launched

The provincial youth Union of Bac Giang province on 6 November held a ground-breaking ceremony of the project for “Construction of Ben Mong Bridge in Luc Son commune, Luc Nam district” granted by the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam.

The event was attended by Than Trung Kien, member of the provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Youth Union, Pham Duong Tuyen, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs, Luong The Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Luc Nam district Party Committee and Goto Hirofumi, Director of Yokoi Mould Vietnam Company Limited, a Japanese company operating in Bac Giang province who supported the province in approaching the aid resource of Japanese Embassy.

Launching the construction of Ben Mong bridge granted by Japanese Embassy

The project for “Construction of Ben Mong Bridge in Luc Son commune, Luc Nam district” was approved by Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee under the Decision No 732/QD-UBND dated 15 April 2020. The project is aimed to constructing Ben Mong Bridge in Luc Son commune, Luc Nam district to facilitate traveling and living of local people especially students in rainy season which helps to connect Tho Son with other villages, the commune center and schools contributing to gradually completing the rural traffic network, fostering socio-economic development and poverty reduction.

The total fund for the project is more than 1.9 billion VND (69,222 USD including 1.6 billion VND from the donation of Japanese Embassy and 300 million VND from the counterpart fund of Luc Nam district people’s committee.

To date, the project’s technical report has been approved by the provincial Department of Transportation and started construction.

Speaking at the event, representative of the contractor pledged to build the construction in accordance with the contracted contents ensuring safety, engineering requirements and schedule to complete the project to facilitate people’s travelling, reduce risks of drowning accidents and stop isolation status of Tho Son village in flood season contributing to implementation of the programme on building new- style rural areas for socio-economic development.
