Bac Giang is a home to 21 ethnic groups, in which Kinh group accounts for 87.6% followed by 12.4% of different ethnic minorities including Nung, Tay, San Dui, Hoa, San Chi, Cao Lan, Dao and some other ethnic minority groups. Ethnic minorities are mainly in 6 mountainous and highland districts namely Son Dong, Luc Ngan, Yen The, Lang Giang and Tan Yen.

Thank to its convenient geographical, sáp vuốt tóc climate and pedological condition, Bac Giang has long been a residential areas of many ethnic groups. Theresidents formed villages with unique features of lifestyles, rituals, customs and production habits, thereof, they created traditional cultural features of each ethnic group particularly and Bac Giang province generally.
