Cooperation situation between Bac Giang province and U.S. partners

Currently, in the province, there are two projects of U.S. investors investing in industrial zones with a total registered capital of 3,957 million USD.

Regarding FDI attraction

Currently, there are 2 projects of US investors investing in industrial zones in Bac Giang province with a total registered capital of 3,957 million USD, including: Allesun new solar energy factory in Vietnam with a registered capital of 2 million USD and Allied Vietnam goose and duck feather processing project with a registered capital of 1,957 million USD. The U.S. enterprises investing in Bac Giang province are mainly small and medium enterprises.

Regarding the province's mechanisms and policies for US enterprises: Bac Giang has recently implemented programs and plans to improve the quality and efficiency of foreign investment cooperation with the goal of focusing on selective foreign investment attration and cooperation with the main evaluation criteria in quality, effeciency and environmental protection. The priority is given to projects with advanced, new, high and clean technologies; modern management; high added value; spillover impact; participation in global supply chains.This is also one of the strengths of U.S enterprises.

Regarding import and export

The export turnover of Bac Giang province to the U.S. market in 2020 is 1,691,613,000 USD, while the figure in the first 6 months of 2021 is estimated at 1,053,119,000 USD. The import turnover of Bac Giang province from the United States in 2020 is 77,634,000 USD, while the figure in the first 6 months of 2021 is estimated at 55,342,000 USD. Main export products are solar panels, garments and some other commodities.

Regarding foreign non-governmental aid

Since 2016, a number of US NGOs have carried out support activities in Bac Giang province, mainly in the fields of health, education, and solving social problems. US NGOs have implemented 16 projects with a committed support budget of1,187,916.70 USD; 17 non-project grants with a total cost of 235,877.00 USD and many goods to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, volunteers working in the field of education.

Currently, there are 6 the U.S.  NGOs registered in Bac Giang province, namely Latter Day Saint Charities (LDSC); The Asia Injury Prevention Foundation (AIPF/USA); Volunteer for Peace (VFP); English Language Institute in China (ELIC); Room to Read (RtR); AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF). The above-mentioned organizations have been deploying foreign non-governmental aids in Bac Giang province.

The grants deployed by US NGOs in the province have contributed to improving social security, supporting beneficiaries such as children, the elderly, and people in difficulties, etc. in the province. In particular, amidst COVID-19 outbreak in Bac Giang province from May to June, these NGOs granted financial aids and personal protective equipments for coronavirus through the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.
